OUR STORY

More than 30 years of experience – in Europe and Canada

Kaffa Holzhandwerk is a father-and-son business based in the Eifel. We combine traditional European trade training with decades of hands-on experience gained in the Netherlands, Canada and Germany.

Our work ranges from custom carpentry and interior construction to renovations, maintenance, decks, repairs and demanding restoration projects. We do not believe in quick standard answers; we believe in honest advice, practical ideas and clean workmanship.

The work we promise is the work we personally carry out – reliably and with responsibility for the finished result.

OUR STORY

Three countries. Two generations. One shared craft.

1993–2011

Training and an independent business in the Netherlands

The journey began at a young age in an uncle’s building and carpentry business. After vocational school and trade training in the Netherlands came the step into self-employment. A small carpentry business grew into a dedicated workshop producing custom windows and doors, individual woodwork, renovations and restorations. Those years shaped the way we still work today: look carefully, think practically and build or repair things to last.

2011–2015

A new chapter in Canada

In 2011 the family moved to Canada’s east coast. A senior role in maintenance, repairs and building improvements at a large Canadian university followed. Responsibility for buildings and facilities across an extensive campus added valuable experience in planning, organisation, safety and solving a wide range of practical problems reliably.

2015–2024

Back to self-employment

After four years came a return to self-employment in Canada, with a business focused on carpentry, repairs, renovations, maintenance and custom wood projects. Many jobs started as a modest repair and developed into lasting client relationships and larger projects. That combination of traditional woodcraft and practical problem solving still defines our work.

2025–2026

Experience becomes a family business

After completing his Canadian trade training and earning his Red Seal certification, son Cody joined the business. From that point it became a true father-and-son team. Decades of hands-on experience, modern Canadian trade training and a shared commitment to good work now come together on every project.

Kaffa Holzhandwerk in the Eifel

After many successful years in Canada, our path led back to Europe and eventually to the Eifel. Here we serve homes and businesses with custom woodwork, repairs, renovations and restoration. We deliberately remain a personal business: you speak directly with the people who assess, plan and carry out your project. Honest work. Practical solutions. Craftsmanship done properly.
